Whats In A Name?

I find a lot of Francophone names completely absurd. For example, PAINCHAUD. "Hello there Mr. HOTBREAD."

There is also BRISEBOIS - aka BROKENWOOD.

I mean honestly people, you weren't very inventive. (And before someone goes on about the origin of names, YES, I do realize that they were often connected to that person's metier…) But STILL...
