Today I was reminded that it's all about the details. Not as in being obsessive about every little thing; rather appreciating everything more. Whether it be a text message from a friend, or a few illicit hours spent with a lover, it's all about counting your blessings.

Little details in your every day life, the smell of a rose, the deliciousness of sleeping in later than usual or that dancefloor moment where the song makes your heart and mind soar and a tear come to your eye.

So my challenge for myself is to maintain this new sense of gratitude about life and to daily find those moments and things that are so very precious.

I forgot what it felt like to cry with missing someone. Aching for them to be there to hold you all through the night.

Street Epiphanies

As I was wandering along Wellington today, at the street fair/sidewalk sale, I realized a few important things: I am automatically suspicious of people with bad eyebrows, have a mistrust of people with Hitler mustaches and extremely obese people also concern me. Should I see someone who has all of these characteristics at once, I might just expire on the spot.

I also think it was a highly intellectual and commendable thing that the cashier put my Draino and juice in the same plastic bag.
