Sabrina, you're a Groovy 70's Party
Hey, cool cat. You never let a fashion trend pass you by, and you get a kick out of reviving old favorites. Again I Laugh!

It might be because I'm tired and sort of delirious, but my friend was asking who someone else I knew was and when they figured it out, they said this: "Oh I think I know who he is, he works at that place and he looks like a gnome."

ROFL - I LOVE BUNNY SOOOOOO MUCH!

Whoever yessed that project should be exiled to fagville forever. And not the good fagville, where there are pink drinks and feather boas, the place where seedy little men act strangely effeminate in a "I wear little girls panties and jack off to people at the bus station while cutting myself" way.

Canadian Idol

My friend Terry made it to the final 100 in Canada. Woah.

GOOD LUCK AND VOTE TERRY! ;)

Auntie

My niece was born today. I'm happy - although I wasn't sure how I would feel. I guess everyone's joy is infectuous. Just hope this doesn't cause more pressure to be put on me. Especially with me being so deliriously happy about having met such a wonderful man recently. (I still find it weird to think that I date men... I don't feel like I'm old enough or something, LOL)

So I get to hopefully be the cool aunt for this child. The one who'll buy her lots of candy and let her do the things that her parents won't. The cool city aunt who's successful, happy and famous. (Heehee, well I plan on being all of those things!)

I wonder what she'll be like. I wonder what her name is. (Trust my dad to not bother finding out!) I wonder what she'll love, who she'll look like, what her dreams will be.

Love at First Sight

He called me and said that he had a great time last night too and that I'll see him soon and told me about his day. Now I'm dancing around my friend Ian's place singing this:

Kylie Minogue
Love At First Sight

Thought that I was going crazy
Just having one those days yeah
Didn't know what to do
Then there was you

And everything went from wrong to right
And the stars came out and filled up the sky
The music you were playing really blew my mind
It was love at first sight

'cause baby when I heard you
For the first time I knew
We were meant to be as one

Was tired of running out of luck
Thinking 'bout giving up yeah
Didn't know what to do
Then there was you

And everything went from wrong to right
And the stars came out and filled up the sky
The music you were playing really blew my mind
It was love at first sight

'cause baby when I heard you
For the first time
I knew we were meant to be as one

And everything went from wrong to right
And the stars came out and filled up the sky
The music you were playing really blew my mind
It was love at first sight

Lovely

You know that song that goes, "Isn't she lovely?" well I've changed the words to the masculine sense and I'm ever so very happy. I had the most incredible lovely date last night. Awwww, I remember earlier in the week practically crying to my friend about how I was alone and there was no one out there for me. I think he might be found.

He's incredible, a gentleman, treated me so well and is incredibly beautiful and lovely. Please god don't let this go away. It was just one of those perfect nights where everything seemed fantastic. He opened doors for me, he carried my things, he treated me ever so well and he was just lovely. And he's an amazing kisser, everything I've been searching for. I dreamt about him last night.

I just want to stay wrapped up in him forever.

What Your Pig Says About You

(Note, this is not my pig that I drew, but you get the idea...)

The pig serves as a useful test of the personality traits of the drawer.

If the pig is drawn:

Toward the top of the paper, you are positive and optimistic.
Toward the middle, you are a realist.
Toward the bottom, you are pessimistic, and have a tendency to behave negatively.

Facing left, you believe in tradition, are friendly, and remember dates (birthdays, etc.)
Facing right, you are innovative and active, but don't have a strong sense of family, nor do you remember dates.
Facing front (looking at you), you are direct, enjoy playing devil's advocate and neither fear nor avoid discussions.

With many details, you are analytical, cautious, and distrustful.
With few details, you are emotional and naive, you care little for details and are a risk-taker.

With less than 4 legs showing, you are insecure or are living through a period of major change.
With 4 legs showing, you are secure, stubborn, and stick to your ideals.

The size of the ears indicates how good a listener you are.
The bigger the better.

The length of the tail indicates the quality of your sex life.
And again more is better!

What they don't say though is what it means when your pig is dancing!

Montrealer of the Week - Miguel Graca

I have to admit I've been very fortunate with the amazing people I have met in the past little while i.e. couple of years of my life. So many uber-talented, yet lovely people who inspire me daily and make me feel like a worthwhile person.

So this is the continuation of my series of talented Montrealers.
Today's installation - MIGUEL GRACA.

I had the fortune to meet Miguel through Patrick Dream (who I blogged about earlier) and since then run into him occasionally at various events. We always have a great time just hanging out and being silly. I was invited to go see him earlier this week and decided to Google him and read up on him. To my surprise, he has won a Juno! Wow! I truly am in the presence of greatness.

But to me, what makes Miguel so great is that he is what I believe a true artist should be - he unapologetically makes music that he feels, not music for the masses. He lets whatever he is feeling come through on the music he writes and doesn't let current "trends" influence him. I truly respect that and it's highly inspiring to say the least.

I was fortunate enough to hear his new work this week and it was really unique and I honestly have not stopped thinking about it. Although I venture to guess that the fact he gave me a little insight into why he wrote certain songs and other details might also influence me to continue thinking about it.

I was reading several articles on him and this one quote just struck a chord with me:

"You're driving down a straight, long road that seems to have no end and the sun is coming up on your left and to the right of you, there are stars, and there's water in the distance that's glowing silver--that's the kind of dawn I'm talking about."

Miguel Graça is leaning back in his chair in his east-end studio, looking every bit the tropical garage/house DJ. Wearing a palm-tree-covered Hawaiian shirt and flip-flops, he's expounding on his favourite time of day and major musical inspiration: the dawning of a new day.

So all this to say that I am honored to consider someone so talented yet so very real and kind and who loves the music as much as I do as a friend.

(Having heard the story about how a lot of these tracks were named - I have to laugh, but I also have to think is that the dawn of a new day that inspired such beautiful music?!)

Men Are Pigs

What the hell??? Ok, I know it's human nature, but I'm trying to be a good girl and live life like I should and not be a bad person and have a good life. But unfortunately other people think I should just be pawns in their pathetic games they play. Meh - why me, sometimes I wonder... Although I am proud of me for not giving into temptation.

Please note, this is NOT me!

Things I've Learned from my Dog

When loved ones come home run to greet them.

Never pass up the opportunity of a joy ride.

Allow the wind and fresh air in your face to be pure ecstasy.

If what you want lies buried, dig till you find it.

Never pretend to be somthing you are not .

No matter how often you are scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing and pout...run right back and make friends.

Let others know when they've invaded your territory.

Run, romp and play daily.

Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

On warm days, stop and lie on your back in the grass.

On hot days drink lots of water and lie in the shade of a tree.

Be loyal.

When your happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

When it's in your best interests, practice obedience.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

Eat with gusto and enthusiasm, but stop when you've had enough.

And most of all...when someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently .

T-Shirt of the Week!!!

I MUST PURCHASE ONE! Or if any of you feel so inclined, my birthday is coming up soon!!! :)

Kisses

Whenever I meet a really good kisser, well one I get to try out at least ;), I can't help but think that kissing is the very best thing ever! Before & since sliced bread even - LOL...

Ummmm, can't wait to see my amazing kisser again - I hope this weekend!

Hot Montrealers - Roadsworth

I was thinking about all the fantastic, interesting people I know in Montreal. There is a virtual plethora of amazing individuals out there. Although I don't know him personally, and I'd like to though, so anyone reading this who knows him, PASS ON THE MESSAGE, I deeply respect and admire Roadsworth.

Although I already liked graffiti, I deeply admired his work. It created something interesting in the city - not like the ugly tagging. This created something that I often heard people talking about. I'm still upset they arrested him. (I've been told he's hot too, but see below the only picture I could find of him, alas!)

From the Montreal Mirror:

F Hey, I'm pissed. I wanna know why the cops and the city can arrest a guy who makes this brilliant, witty street art around town. You've seen it: zippers up Parc Avenue, missiles for crosswalks. His name is Roadsworth and he got arrested and fined and maybe he'll be EXILED from the city. I don't get it. I mean, he takes everyday things that you take for granted and he changes them, transforms them into something that communicates a greater message. Yet you walk around the city and you see all these tags and initials and ILLEGIBLE DRIBBLINGS on buildings and windows - but the one true graffiti artist gets arrested and fined. I hope this generates a little community communication. [BLEEP!]

Here are some examples of his "work":

So if anyone knows how/where to reach him, I'd love to meet this fine person!

Scramblings

Today I had several thoughts about what is sexy: sunny, dimples, police sirens and men in suits came to mind. I also kept turning everything like "excited" and "stimulate" into perverted things. All day at work I was giggling to myself. Either I'm going crazy or I have superior intellect. (I'd like to think I do have a superiority complex, but that I am also right, after all, one day I will be supreme ruler of the universe!)

Hopefully I'll look hot like this!

Body Bag by Jude

My dear friend, James, organized a party about a year and a half ago and had a fashion show included. It was held at Stereo bar and the amazing talented Body Bag designer Jude was showcased. This was my favorite outfit at the event.

Although this one was hot as well:

Matt and Nat

Could I potentially love my Matt and Nat bag anymore? How heartbroken was I when I thought it might potentially be gone forever?!

And I found this AWESOME BLOG where the writer also lauds her Matt and Nat bag. I think I may love her!

Check out my FAVORITE Montreal designer of the moment at VIA VEGAN - aka the lovely super-talented maker of Matt and Nat bags, inder bedi.

And just look HOW HOT HE IS!!!
The positivity message, printed on the bottom or the side of most of the bags, is similar to Trainspotting's opening voice-over, sans sarcasm: "Choose life, choose positivity… choose to make a difference." Bedi says choosing to make a difference is the central tenet to Via Vegan. "It reflects my own personal belief," he says. "If you're not making waves, what's the point?"

Sorry for My Absence

Sometimes life just gets crazy and you need to totally stop doing ALL the regular things you do. Like EVERYTHING and focus on just BREATHING. That has been my life as of late, in almost complete entirety. So right now life isn't so great, but it's been worse and will get better. Tomorrow I start my new job. I just hope I can figure out clothes to wear and look ok and not look miserable and be happy, more importantly. Then a couple days to hopefully figure out where I'm going to live and then work starts on Monday. One day at a time for sure...
