Hed Kandi at Stereo...

John 4

This is John Jones - he will be playing at Stereo tonight with "the system"! I met John back in June at Roger Sanchez. He was awesome, I remember having a fantastic convo with him for hours on end until he was spirited away to the infamous Laliberte party up north. I'm ever so happy he is coming back to Stereo and this time he will be playing.

Check out the Hed Kandi crew.

Melody of Love - Donna Summer

I always
stayed away from love
afraid of what might
might happen
till I thought
I heard a sound above
singing through my very
own heart
was a melody
I never heard
like birds singing loud
to the sky

Never dreamed that
true love would help me
find my way
didn't know how deep I'd fallen
until you rescued, rescued me
suddenly
strings began
I heard the melody again and again
the sound of music
flowing through my head
so rare
I'm walking on air

Melody of love
sing that song for me yeah
I want to hear somebody sing
Melody of love
oh take me away

One lonely night
you up and dance into my dreams
baby you set my heart on fire
so I've been burning
burning ever since yeah
suddenly
strings began
I hear the melody again and again
the sounds of trumpets
flowing through my head
so rare I'm walking on air

Melody of love
sing that song for me yeah
I want to hear somebody sing
Melody of love
oh take me away
Melody of love
oh set me free yeah
I want to hear somebody sing
Melody of love
oh take me away

Oh Melody
oh Melody
I can really feel it
you can feel it, too
oh Melody
oh Melody

Melody of love
sing that song for me yeah
I want to hear somebody sing
Melody of love
oh take me away
Melody of love
oh set me free yeah
I want to hear somebody sing
Melody of love
oh take me away

Funny How Things Change

There was a point in time when I thought I was hopelessly in love with someone this year. I suppose I was. But I thought I would not live without this person. There was no way that I could go on if he was not in my life.

Funny how things change.

I still care about him a lot. He's one of my favorite people and I will always care deeply about him, there is no doubt about that in my mind, but baby, like that song you like says, "Things Just Ain't the Same"!

It's funny how what I thought might have been there is so pale in comparison to what I see in my life now. And I see how he and I would have been so wrong.

There will still be a piece of me missing if he wasn't in my life though.

Today's Lessons Include Obesity & Mental Disorders

Two things I've learnt today, or perhaps these two things just solidified in my mind once and for all.

1) Obese people should NOT run. Why do obese people insist on doing that little walk-run two-step weird prance sometimes? It doesn't do them any good and it's kinda gross.

2) There are WAY too many crazy people loose on the streets. Why should I have to deal with them on a daily basis? Seriously!? Meh to them!

Lusty Lady and Casual Sex Myths

Lusty Lady
Casual-Sex Myths
Harmless hookups offer hot no-strings action, but still get a bad rap
by Rachel Kramer Bussel

Casual sex gets a bad rap, even in these supposedly liberated times. While books like The Hookup Handbook: A Single Girl's Guide to Living It Up (Simon Spotlight Entertainment, 2005), Brief Encounters: The Women's Guide to Casual Sex (Vision, 2005), and My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands (Bloomsbury, 2005) abound, several myths about casual sex still need to be put to rest.

Not At McD's!

Apparently this is posted at the Roppongi Higashi McDonalds. Imagine, next they will expect the diners (if I can call them that) to have table manners, maybe even IQ's.

Groceries

Having a full fridge is immensely satisfying. Having cheddar gators for a snack is even more so!

LOL - the theories I could come up with about this all are endless!

What Random Object Represents You?

Clickity clickity click HERE!

Here is what I got:
YOU ARE A HOE.

You are characterized as being used by others, when in fact it is the other way around. You are secretive, especially around those you care most about. Even though you are always one take control of situations, people can sometimes bring down your self esteem. But don't worry. You have the opposite sex to make all of your dreams come true. Just don't be too dependent on your lover... he may be only using you to tend to his crops.

Most Compatible with: Toilet Paper, and Toenail.

All I can say is "WORK ME!"

I Don't Think It Is

Nope - I can't agree. I think more people should be like her. Perhaps myself included.
Hmmm - food for thought indeed!

The Funniest Start to My Day!

Alive

Don't ask yourself what the world needs;
ask yourself what makes you come alive.
And then go and do that.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

MEH

LOL, I love that word. So I have an amazing lovely person in my life. I briefly talked to him earlier, although I am the one who ended the conversation... Keeping contact but no smothering or neediness. Going to bribe him with apple pie & sausages... (Don't ask!)

Perhaps I will even have an outfit like this!

The Country

So I'm out in the country visiting my family and it's snowing like MAD. I took some pictures, but I don't think that you can see the extent of it. But I'm wondering just HOW much snow we're going to get. It's rather quite insane actually. This is probably one of the worst storms this year.

Here are pics I just took:

I Am A Coke Whore

I was dead tired tonight and decided that since I have quite a few things to do tomorrow, that I should sleep early. But then I was thirsty and wanted a drink before bed. I knew better, but couldn't resist.

Now 3 1/2 hours later I am still awake.

I am a coke whore.

The Week Update

Here has been my week in a nutshell:

I spent it unsuccessfully trying to secure a job. But I have another interview tomorrow and I'm fairly sure that this one is a cinch. The job I really had my hopes up for, I was the second choice. So they told me that when another position becomes available, I will be called back. I guess I should look at it in a good way. It was probably a highly conveted position, but I did wow them, the other person just was slightly more qualified. I guess it just gives me something to aspire to.

I am proud of myself as I managed to maintain cleanliness in my room and also started hacking away at the other tasks in the household that need to be done. Pretty much just the usual tidying up and the floors are left to be done. I wish the others would pitch in a bit more though. Especially the new one.

He's really getting on my nerves as seems to be incredibly selfish, inconsiderate and lazy. I'm no one's maid and looking for a job is a job in itself, so I'd appreciate a bit more help.

Today when I left to go for a walk, some nasty old guy tried to purse snatch me. I was pissed. No one steals my orange Matt and Nat and lives! Plus with my Prada glasses and all my lovely things inside, I'd KILL.

I'm proud of myself too as I did one thing on my list of things I've been wanting to do for awhile. I actually went and joined the library again. I'd forgotten just how serene and peaceful and relaxing a library can be. Plus it leaves me free to save money on buying books, which is a necessity right now, but I also found books right away by my favorite authors. Looks like I'll be there a lot as I already have almost read one this evening.

Over two weeks now with my lovely. Wow. I've managed to bypass the seven day curse that I seemed to be stuck with. Last night we had a lovely bottle of yellow label Wolf Blass - yay for Australian wines. Then watched him on the news (I'm so proud of everything he has been doing!) It's refreshing and inspiring to have met someone who has such strong beliefs about things and sticks to them. Entirely incredibly sexy too.... Yum....

So all in all, despite the hardships I am currently facing, I am incredibly happy and feel super blessed. I truly believe everything happens for a reason. I'm looking forward to all that life can bring.

Pictures of ME ME ME!

This is from House Factory last weekend - I think I was looking pretty hot despite having been awake for 2 1/2 days in most of these. LOL...

More Holy Food Items

This item is on auction on e-Bay. It's an apparition of the Virgin and Child incarnate in a mustard-flavored Rold-Gold pretzel. Do you see it? Can you see it? Isn't it tender and luminous? I mean, for a carbohydrate?
According to the seller, they all experienced a feeling of warmth and spiritual well-being when holding the pretzel.

Last time I checked, bidding was up around $11,000. Glory.

Kind of funny since Chris was just talking about the Virgin Mary grilled cheese earlier today.

Panettone

One of the perfect foods ever to have been created. Oh panettone, how do I love thee - let me count the ways.

Frances Castle

And yet another artist whose talent I can appreciate. Check out Frances Castle.

Win a Date

Win a date with a mobster... Or at least his son. This is certainly an interesting contest.

Here he is...

And here is more about what you could be winning!

Eighteen year old Carmine is an above average Honor Roll student. He admits to being a bit of a 'fashionista' as his favorite designers are Gucci, Prada, Armani, and A/X. Besides sports and hanging out friends, Carmine can often be found sketching or drawing.

He can be quiet, shy, and introverted. Carmine likes to stay in the background, taking things in and sizing everyone up before introducing himself. This has lead to his being nicknamed 'Mr. Quiet but cunning'. In the fall, Carmine will be heading off to college before he pursues a career goal of being a music executive and/or writer.

Just gotta love the family TV show!

Tasty and Nutritious...!

This news story just goes beyond. I don't know what kind of parents this kid has, but holy crap!

Student receives semen-frosted brownies

By Associated Press
Posted March 10 2005

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -- A teenager has agreed to admit to three counts of disturbing the peace after anonymously sending semen-frosted brownies to a fellow student. The recipient shared the treat with two other teens, police said.

They said the 17-year-old Coeur d'Alene High School student was upset after a prank in which the other student put peanut butter in his cheese sandwich days before. He told a school resource officer that "he hated peanut butter and it made him more mad than he could explain," according to the police report.

The teen later told School Resource Officer Jeff Walther that he got the idea of putting his semen on the brownies from the movie "National Lampoon's Van Wilder," in which characters send pastries filled with dog semen to a fraternity house.

The student was arrested and booked into a juvenile detention center. He has since been released on a judge's order that he has no contact with the students who ate the brownies.

The youth is to be sentenced on April 4 on the three misdemeanor counts, which are each punishable by up to 90 days in detention, prosecutors said.

The victims' parents were notified and the children were tested for anything that could have been transmitted through the body fluid, although Panhandle Health spokeswoman Susan Cuff said the chance of the students' health being affected would be "extremely remote."

School Superintendent Harry Amend declined comment on any school discipline against the teenager.

Hooters Make Everything Alright

I sat about the house debating getting dressed for most of the day. Lack of inspiration I suppose was partly the culprit, the others being lack of anything interesting to do, unwanted visitors in the house, and nasty weather outside.

Now I've gotten my a** in gear and I chose to dress in my Hooters shirt. All is well with the world once more.

Dirty Ducks!

The strange case of the homosexual necrophiliac duck pushed out the boundaries of knowledge in a rather improbable way when it was recorded by Dutch researcher Kees Moeliker.

International Women's Day

International Women's Day, March 8, is an occasion marked by women's groups around the world.

This date is also commemorated at the United Nations and is designated in many countries as a national holiday.

When women on all continents, often divided by national boundaries and by ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic and political differences, come together to celebrate their Day, they can look back to a tradition that represents at least nine decades of struggle for equality, justice, peace and development.

International Women's Day is the story of ordinary women as makers of history; it is rooted in the centuries-old struggle of women to participate in society on an equal footing with men.

In ancient Greece, Lysistrata initiated a sexual strike against men in order to end war; during the French Revolution, Parisian women calling for "liberty, equality, fraternity" marched on Versailles to demand women's suffrage.

The idea of an International Women's Day first arose at the turn of the century, which in the industrialised world was a period of expansion and turbulence, booming population growth and radical ideologies.

Labyrinth

I don't know what to say... I'm honestly very touched.

Singhsons

Utterly brilliant. Bollywood meets Fox and spawns this love child.

More About Me...

One of those emails that get sent around, but still an interesting read.

1. First name: Sabrina-Kate (For those of you who don't know why, you can
read on my Web Blog the story!)

2. Were you named after anyone? Kate Jackson who played Sabrina on the
original Charlie's Angels series

3. Do you wish on stars? Sure, it's kind of a childhood habit that I never
got rid of.

4. When did you last cry? Today - my head is still aching, think tomorrow
it's to the dr for me. :( (I think I should get an honorary Md one of these
days for most time spent there.)

5. Do you like your handwriting? Sure, although I type most things.

6. What is your favourite lunch meat? Don't really have a favorite, although
I love tuna with lots of mayo.

7. What is your birth date? June 22, 1978 (So you have a few months of
shopping time left.)

8. What is your most embarrassing CD? I'm hoping I got rid of all of those
really. Or at least they are buried in the storage somewhere.

9. If you were another person, would YOU be friend with you? Ha, I could
only wish that someone as fabulous as me would deign to let me be their
friend. ;)

10. Are you a daredevil? Try and stop me from doing something if I want to.
It's all about living your life while you're alive, i.e. doing what you
want!

11. Have you ever told a secret you swore not to tell? I'm sure we all have,
but I'd most likely only do it if I thought it was something that needed to
be done, i.e. to keep someone from getting hurt or something.

12. Do looks matter? Depending on the situation, sure, but I only have
beautiful people in my midst ;)

13. How do you release anger? Dancing, the best therapy I've found BY FAR!

14. Where is your second home? Stereo... Although my home is becoming more
and more my home and I'm less at Stereo... They used to joke that they
should make me a bedroom there so I could save time not having to leave in
between nights.

15. Do you trust others too easily? Probably but I'd rather err that way
than be overly paranoid and possibly miss out on the most beautiful
experiences or people I could have. I guess I might be a fool to believe in
the innate goodness of some people...

16. What was your favourite toy as a child? My Little Ponies, then Barbies &
I loved pretending to be my dad's secretary.

17. What class in high school do you think is totally useless? Home Ec -
what a joke that was! I can think of classes that would be A LOT more
practical!

18. Do you have a journal? Sort of, an online Blog. I call it "As the Disco
Ball Turns" The life and times of a serial clubber. Although I probably
should call it "My Schizophrenic Ramblings"

19. Do you use sarcasm a lot? Sarcasm is an underused, underrated highly
valued art in my books.

20. Favourite movie(s): Good Will Hunting, Sex & Lucia, La Vita e Bella

21. What are your (acceptable) pet's names? Don't have any pets at the
moment, and would have to really decide when I saw them.

22. Would you bungee jump? I'm not sure, probably not...

23. Do you untie your shoes when you take them off? Usually not, I usually
have boots on and unzip!

24. Do you think that you are strong? I believe that we are a product of our
experiences. We choose to learn from what happens to us or become a victim.
I know I have made the choice to let every experience I've had make me a
wiser, stronger person. I'd like to think I'm strong, but even Samson fell.
;)

25. What is your favourite ice cream flavour? Please let me just eat every
Ben and Jerry's possible, then I will tell you my honest answer - LOL, I
love Half-Baked I think!

26. Shoe size:8

27. What are your favourite colors? Hot pink

28. What is your least favourite thing about yourself? My impatience...

29. Who do you miss most? Seems like I'm always missing someone, that's what
happens when you have friends spread across the globe, but I just try and
make the most of the time that I am with them so that I have the memories to
keep me going.

30. Do you want everyone you send this to send it back? Yes!

34. If you were a crayon? I hope I wouldn't end up in a sandwich made by
Ralph Wiggums (Simpsons reference!)

cold, meh, don't plan on leaving the house and finding out.

36. Last person you talked to on the phone? Ian Curry (Cuz I'm trying to
pimp him out)

37. The first thing you notice about the opposite sex? I dunno, I'm pretty
damn happy at the moment, but I can't say I'm not still noticing. I like
people who exude confidence though and that can come in many forms.

38. Do you like the person who sent this to you? Hmmm, Lisa? I dunno... Just
kidding!

39. How are you today? My head STILL hurts... But I had a good time on the
weekend (BUgo was INCREDIBLE!) and spent a lovely Sunday evening/night and
had a good Monday morning to start off my week, so... The happiness I have
in my life far outweighs this headache!

40. Favourite Drink? Coke (the giver of life and EVERYTHING that is good!),
chocolate milk & vodka

41. Favourite sports? Football, rugby

42. Hair Color? At the moment, red with blondish highlights

43. Eye Color? Green but ever changing with my moods

day!)

any day...

50. Hugs or kisses? I want both (I'm not greedy, they just are both
needed...)

51. What is your favourite desert? Chocolate anything, I think James and I
need to go to have a " trough" of dessert again... Yummmmmmm!

52. Who is Most Likely to Respond? I really don't know...

53. Who is Least Likely to Respond? Probably most people, but I understand -
we all lead hectic lives.

54. Where Would You Want to Go on your Next Vacation? There are so many
places I want to go, but I'd really like to go and discover new things with
someone, so I'm content waiting...

55. What Books are you Reading? Sweeter Life... And it's the last one I
have, so please feel free to donate some books my way!

56. What is on your mouse pad? Nothing, no mouse pad for me!

57. What did you Watch Last Night? Chris - hahaha (But it's true)

58. Favourite smells: Vanilla, the smell at match makes when lit, the new
book smell the first time you open it, Karlito on Saturday night (Yum,
amazing how a gay man can still smell amazing after dancing all night), the
way someone else smells spicy good all the time

59. Rolling Stones or Beatles? Meh, neither really

60. Do you believe in Evolution or Creationism? I believe in a supreme
being, a creator, I just hate religion.

61. What's the furthest you've been away from home? Italia

New Job of the Week...

So I guess it's not going to be women wrestling (apparently one MUST be asian for that) but this could be my new possible career:

18+ males and females of all types and sizes to work for an adult video production company. No experience necessary. Flexible hours, evenings and weekends available. For confidential interview call 514-392-1444.

And don't tell me THAT isn't exactly what this is about!

And In The Stars This Week...

CANCER (June 21–July 22): "The average river requires a million years to move a grain of sand one hundred miles," says science writer James Trefil. The work you've been doing on yourself these past two years, Cancerian, must sometimes have seemed as maddeningly gradual. The good news is that you are now in the last few months of this slow-motion, long-term project. If you can sustain your focus, you'll finish up around your birthday, having created such a strong inner sense of sanctuary that you will forever after be able to feel at home in the world no matter where you are.

I don't believe in Astrology per se, but sometimes I'll see something that really speaks to me. And this one does. Specifically the mention of the past two years, well that is bang on timewise. Everything here seems quite pertinent and thank god, positive! So just another few months of work. No time for slacking!

A Tale of Two Perverts...

You really need to read this comparison piece about Rumsfeld and Michael Jackson. Interesting reading for sure, but also very disturbing.
